Answering Guidelines

The brand will receive a yes when the company purchases organic, such as EU organic or USDA, or otherwise certified vegetables and/or fruit for a substantial part. At the moment 'substantial' is not yet translated in to a minimum percentage number, as best practices in the sector do not allow this yet. During the course the criteria may get more tight as best practices improve.

Answer Yes:

  • [Brand] uses [organic/otherwise] certified [vegetables / fruit ] for at least [part], which is substantial (see link/page).

Answer No:

  • [Brand] explicitly says not to use certified vegetables and fruit [...] (see link/page)

Answer ?:

  • [Brand] does not communicate any information about use of certified vegetables and/or fruit. Sustainability information should be easily accessible for consumers to make responsible choices.
  • [Brand] mentions that [fruit/vegetable] is certified vegetables and/or fruit, however, it is not clear for which part. Sustainability information should be easily accessible for consumers to make responsible choices.
