References and Guidelines

When ingredients are added during the production process of milk and yoghurt (e.g. strawberry yoghurt), organic products can not be treated with chemical smell, colorants or flavors and additives such as sugar, fruit and cocoa from organic origin. Aroma's also need to be from organic origin. [1] Chemical flavors damage the environment (water and air).

This guideline is set by EKO [2]. When a product is labelled with the EKO sign, it indicates that the product has organic origin. The standards of EKO are made up by and protected by the European Commission. According to EKO, dairy should be produced without chemical flavors, colorants, smells or preservatives and additives such as sugar, fruit and cocoa have to be from organic origin, in order to be certified organic.

Best Practice: Vecozuivel has 100% organic milk, which indicates that 100% (so at least 50%) of the dairy is produced without chemical flavors, colorants, smells or preservatives and are the additives such as sugar, fruit and cocoa from organic origin.
